break of spring

did i mention that i had one killer spring break?

right after work on saturday chris and i hopped in the beetle and drove all the way to st. g (the g stands for giselle) along with the rest of utah county, and we sang the entire way down. upon arrival my bffs took care of us and fed us pizza.

then we ate lasagna on the floor.

then we did a beeeauuuutiful cliff hike

and we did the crack

and went to dixie rock

with lots of swimming, sunburns, rowdiness, apples to apples, eating food, climbing on rocks, sleeping on weird surfaces, gigantic pancakes, jokes, laughs, and especially mischief mixed in.

then we came back tuesday night. not long enough.

on thursday, the gang went to cafe rio and played games at lindsey's afterwards. such a tradition.

on friday, chris and i saw sherlock holmes.

on saturday, we ate mexican food for the 27th time that week and took a shopping trip to SLC, and watched some good ol' bear grylls.

on sunday, we put a leopard coat on my dog which he wore proudly around the house for hours and chris sat through pretty little liars with me and we ate MORE MEXICAN FOOD and i completely reorganized my room - so happy bout that.

IT WAS GREAT. and not long enough. come on guys, only a month left!!!!!

yesterday, bff hannah and her brother andrew and i took a long drive out to the sand dunes called "little sahara" in southeast utah. and andrew took pictures. he is amazing.

isn't she a beaute.

it was so, so much fun. hannah and i both had about 3 more outfits, but we ran out of time. i wish i could do it all the time. i wish i was a photographer. such good stuff.

I miss Washington. Every summer my family goes on a trip. This year we went to Seattle. I miss being away from everything and becoming one with madre nature. And it was so gorg and filled with fun times.

We:



Kayaked in the ocean and camped on an island.



Explored Olympic National Park.



Took a long walk on the beach.



Entered the land of Twilight.



Peaced out Mt. St. Helens.





And walked about Seattle.

"Mom, do you think a raccoon will attack me in my tent if I keep chapstick in there?"
"That....is a risk you will have to take."

"If you see a bear, yell out a warning like, BATTLESTAR GALACTICA."

"Why is it okay for the elk to pick the leaves off of bushes but when I do it I get in trouble?"
"Because the elk..are democrat. And you are not."

Good company.

Oh. And did I mention that my cat had her kittens THE DAY AFTER we left?? Absolutely maddening. Oooooh are they cute.

fun-day

Yesterday Chris and I went on a drive to Brighton because it is glorious in the summer and you can climb all the way on top of the ski lifts and perch on top, and Sunday drives are kind of our thing. His car started dying so we didn't make it to Brighton but we made it to Solitude. We didn't walk around a ton but it was still beautiful. And wet, cause it was rainy, which was even cooler.



Then his parents came and helped us fix his car. It was all alright. And a good adventure.

When I got home my mom had finally crafted on it what we had been wanting to do for ages.



It is hung on my wall in my bedroom. She put quilt batting underneath the fabric (luxurious teal velvet) so it is all puffy, and I can stick earrings and pushpins in it. It's quite brilliant. Thanks mom.

We also made Twix cupcakes worthy of a fine confectionery and a king's taste buds, started season 5 of Lost, and cleaned a whole lot. It was fun.

so much goodness this week

WE GOT A NEW KITTY CAT. My mom has been watching too much Cats 101 lately. Heh heh heh. Basically she started wanting a cuddly lap cat because Gary is a psychotic, rowdy crazy that just wants to play all the time. Completely spontaneous, she went to the animal shelter and got this little bundle of joy. She is the sweetest most cuddly cat ever. She even purrs and meows like a normal cat. Imagine that! I LOVE HER. So so so much. Her name is Pippi.



(of course, Gary is still my one true love.)



On Friday it was Chris's birthday. The big 2-0!! Crazy! We finally went to Sammy's Cafe in Provo for his birthday. Dang it was good. And we went shopping and mini golfing and all kinds of neat things. It was just a really fun day.



We also longboarded Provo Canyon this week.







And we celebrated Meggie's birthday!





And now we are having a nice relaxing Father's Day. Happy Day, Pops!

So me and Chris went to the zoo today and had buckets of fun. I was in a rush and forgot my camera, so here are some phone pictures. Which are actually pretty dern good.



Chris was just so, so excited. And then we saw this giraffe licking the wall forever. I almost died of funny. Look at its HUUUUGE tongue.



Nice guys.



And then we saw the sandcat, which is my favorite.



And THEN, we turned the corner to go see the gorilla and look what we saw. This crazy peacock courtshipping a lady peacock. Ahhh nature. Glorious, isn't it?



I swear we were the only ones that saw it.



Coolest thing I have ever seen.



I try so hard to like monkeys. But I....just ....can't. I was DETERMINED not to see any monkeys throwing up and eating their own vomit multiple times like last time. Yeah, thank heavens that didn't happen. A monkey just spread its legs and peed at us about three feet in front of us instead. UGGGGGHHHHHHHHH.

Besides that, lovely time. Chris gives hilarious commentary. And they even have robotic dinosaurs there now. I love the zoo.
